Step 1: Open Evenings
Upcoming Open Evenings: Summer 2025
Explore our beautiful campus, check out our amazing facilities and have your questions answered by our friendly staff.
Our Open Evenings are designed for Year 10 students at the start of their post-16 education journey, but we welcome all to attend. Bring along your friends and family to experience everything Long Road has to offer you.
Step 2: Complete an Online Application
Our application deadline for September 2025 is Tuesday, 14th January 2025. Applications submitted after this date may be placed on a waiting list.
Long Road welcomes applications from all students, regardless of the school you currently attend. All applications are considered equally, however, the application process differs based on the school you currently attend. Please ensure you check which of the below applies to you before submitting your application:
- Applicants who currently study at a Cambridge Area 14 – 19 Partnership school should apply online via MyChoice@16.
- A list of all CAP schools can be found here. If your school is on this list, please click here to start your application.
- Applicants who do not currently study at a CAP school must apply directly to Long Road. Please click here to start your Admissions+ application.
Please note that the college will automatically transfer all MyChoice@16 applications to the Admissions+ platform after our January deadline. Your login information will be sent to you via email.
Level 4 Foundation Art and Design Applications
If you are applying to study on our Level 4 Foundation Art and Design course, please click here to start an application on Admissions+.
If you have any issues with your application, please email admissions@longroad.ac.uk
We will continue to accept applications until the summer, but please remember that places on the course are offered on a first come, first served basis. In the event that the course is oversubscribed, your application may be placed on a waiting list.
If you have any questions about the course, please email Rupert Morgan, Course Team Leader, on rmorgan@longroad.ac.uk
Step 3: Virtual Advice and Guidance Meetings
The majority of this year’s Virtual Advice and Guidance Meetings will take place on Thursday 13th & Friday 14th February 2025.
Shortly after the application deadline, our online booking system will open for applicants to book their meeting.
Our Advice and Guidance Meetings are informal, 25-minute sessions, taking place throughout the Spring and Summer terms. Your meeting will be held via video call, during which a member of our friendly staff will discuss your future career plans, your reasons for choosing your programme of study and find out more about you as an individual. Parents and Carers are encouraged to attend your meeting with you.
Step 4: Offer to study
Once you have attended your Advice and Guidance Meeting, your interviewer will update your Admissions+ application account with your agreed courses and Conditional Offer. You will be sent an email informing you of the update to your application, after which you need to log in to your Admissions+ account to accept the offer.
Accepting your offer to study does not confirm your enrolment as a Long Road student. However, it does hold your place for you and means you will be invited to our Welcome Days in the summer term.
Please note: You can accept and hold offers from multiple post-16 providers before making your final decision on Results Day.
Step 5: Welcome Days
Upcoming Welcome Days: July 2025
If you accept your offer of study, you will be invited to one of our Welcome Days.
Our Welcome Days are designed to give you a first-hand experience of life as a Long Road student. You will spend the day in timetabled lessons, trying out the subjects you have applied to study with us. This also gives you the opportunity to meet your potential classmates and teachers.
