Peterborough Citizens Mayoral Assembley

We're so proud of our students Juvi Carandang and Emily King for presenting to over 210 people at last night's Peterborough Citizens Mayoral Assembly.
Juvi and Emily took to the stage to campaign for improved public transport across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, presenting the findings from our listening campaign of students at Long Road and praising the Tiger Pass, which was a hugely positive step towards giving young people better access to transport across the county.
The highlight of their campaign is the artwork Emily and Juvi created to show the extensive travel routes that young people undertake every day in their journey to Long Road. They invited all attendees of the assembly to add their own routes to the artwork to further highlight the importance of strong public transport networks.
We are pleased to say that all 3 Mayoral candidates committed to:
- Prioritise the journeys of young people to education, work, and recreation.
- Extend the Tiger Pass at £1
- Install new bus stops at ARU Peterborough and Nene Park Trust
Students in the audience thoroughly enjoyed the event, and we'd like to thank all the Mayoral candidates for taking the time to speak to them individually after the assembly.
A special mention also goes to our Youth Social Action Apprentice, Charlotte Smith, who took on a key organiser role in the build-up to the event and spent the night on stage as a chair of the assembly!
