Student Governor Elections 2024

Do you want to have a say in how the college is run? Are you interested in representing the student body? Become a Student Governor! 

Who can apply? 

We need two Year 1 students to be elected as Governors. We're keen to hear from you if you feel you can make a difference to the college and your fellow students. The role will last up to 2 years, until July 2026. If you're a Year 1 student who is keen and ready to dedicate time to this role, we want to hear from you! 

About the Governing Body

The local governing body (LGB) at Long Road Sixth Form College consists of community-based external individuals, the Principal, 2 staff Governors, 2 student Governors and 2 parent Governors. Governors provide strategic leadership to the college and set a framework of policies and procedures that the college operates within.

Complete the application form below. Your application is to be submitted by 5pm on Wednesday 25 September 2024 to 
clerk@longroad.ac.uk. Your application should say something about you, and why you think you will be a good student Governor.  This statement will be used if there needs to be an election.
