COVID-19 Information

The requirement to test for COVID-19 has been withdrawn which means we no longer supply test kits for students or staff however you should stay at home and avoid contact if you have symptoms of Covid-19 and either:

• have a high temperature
• do not feel well enough to come to college

You should report your absence to absences@longroad.ac.uk or complete the online self-certification form by following the link: https://registry.longroad.ac.uk/absence/

Students who are too unwell to work should keep in touch with their teachers to ask for work to complete when they are recovered.  The important thing is not to fall too far behind and work to your capabilities. Students should communicate with their teachers and Progress Coaches if they are struggling due to COVID-19 isolation or illness. 

At Long Road, we are committed to doing what we can to keep our students and staff safe while studying and working.

We encourage good ventilation as well as good handwashing and hygiene practices.

There is no legal requirement to wear a face mask and we consider it to be a matter of personal choice.  If you do wish to make the choice to wear a face mask you will be supported in that decision.

The NHS COVID-19 vaccination programme is now open to everyone aged 16 and over. With many students now eligible, the NHS nationally has asked for our support to help get the message to students and get them protected as quickly as possible.  You can book your COVID-19 vaccination by clicking here. 

The college will provide individual and small group (up to 5) support sessions for students who do not yet have Grade 4 in English or Maths GCSE, have an EHCP, or are from areas of economic disadvantage. These sessions will supplement the classroom teaching and enable students to have more personal feedback and help with their preparation for GCSE exams. This support is funded by the Government and is enabling the employment of additional teaching staff.
