Competition winner secures summer internship!
Congratulations to student Rebecca for winning a competition set by Costello Medical and securing a summer internship!
A local company, Costello Medical, set up a competition brief for our graphic design students to create a poster about facts and fictions to do with the flu virus.
Many students entered, with year 2 student Rebecca Parr being selected as the winner. Her prize was an online internship over the summer with Costello Medical.
Rebecca says "Over the summer holidays, I was given the opportunity to undertake an online internship experience with the graphic design team at Costello Medical. Over the duration of the holidays, I created designs and responded to the feedback I was given – this allowed me to learn how to revise my work in order to realise the client’s vision. The process of designing and responding to feedback given was enlightening, and it taught me valuable skills in preparation for client work which I will encounter in the future as I enter into the working world of design.
I greatly enjoyed the challenges that were put in front of me, and the satisfaction from overcoming them and creating a series of finalised designs; this was a more-than-worthwhile experience that has taught me much about the industry in which I am passionate about."
