Alumni Abbie secures competitive Degree Apprenticeship!
The college was delighted to welcome back recent Alumni Abbie Tuite to talk to Economics students about her journey.
Former Long Road Scholar, Abbie, graduated from Long Road this summer after successfully completing her A Levels in Business, Maths and Economics. She is now about to start her Degree Apprenticeship in Commercial Banking with HSBC in London(!), but before starting her exciting new adventure she came back to give our current students an insight into the application and interview process, and just how competitive the apprenticeships are.
Abbie recommended students attend the college careers fairs and read the weekly updates shared by the Careers Team. These events and resources are where she found the opportunities to attend several work experience and insight days. The experiences and skills she gained further enhanced her apprenticeship application, reinforcing the message to our students that employability skills are just as important as grades.
She went onto give students her experience of sitting her A Level exams, with tips on how to revise and when they should be starting their revision!
Thank you so much to Abbie for coming back and visting us, we wish you the best of luck in your new role!
